Student Analyst, Growth Markets Fund

We are currently looking for ambitious part-time Analyst to join our Growth Markets Fund (GMF) Investment Team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Role

CIP’s Growth Markets Fund (GMF) investment strategy targets high-yield project and platform level renewable energy investments in select developing and high-growth economies around the world. The investment team comprises of professionals with a variety of disciplines across development, financing, and M&A with the primary objective of sourcing, developing, financing and ultimately divesting each investment.

Analyst’s play an integral part of the investment team and have an opportunity to support the team across the entire deal lifecycle, from development of an investment thesis through development, construction and exit. Key responsibilities include:

  • Visualization and presentation of technical and financial data to stakeholders
  • Financial modelling, valuation and structuring of investments
  • Market analysis and due diligence of new investment opportunities
  • Working together with industrial partners and advisors

CIP will constantly seek to challenge and inspire you, while focusing on your learning and personal development. The position is part-time and based in CIP’s Kuala Lumpur office. Top performing Analysts will be considered for full-time Associate positions upon graduation.

About You

CIP is looking for 2nd-3rd year BSc and 1st-2nd year MSc students in Economics, Business, Engineering or adjacent field with relevance to renewable energy investing.

  • Top academic performance and strong analytical skills
  • Strong work-ethic with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Team player with excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Thriving with responsibility and displaying attention to detail
  • Interest in corporate finance, strategy and M&A
  • Curious and creative mindset with an ability to work independently
  • Experience in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in multiple languages is an advantage, although not a requirement
  • Availability on the part-time / full-time basis (min. 24 hrs / week) for a minimum of 6 months period
