Category Manager, Indirect Procurement
Do you want to join a global leader in the green energy transition? If so, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) is the perfect place for you!
CIP is on an exciting growth journey since its inception in 2012. Every year, CIP is expanding with new international offices (currently 12 globally), new funds to manage, and new green energy assets (offshore/onshore wind parks, solar farms, bioenergy plants, etc.).
The Team
Indirect Procurement is a relatively new function at CIP, but is a strategic priority for the leadership to ensure scalable growth by:
- Managing complexity through consolidation of requirements and vendors across CIP entities and funds
- Supporting the business via contracting of long-term supply agreements
- Managing costs through commercial levers (e.g. tendering, negotiations), professionalizing spend management (e.g. policy and process implementation) and elevating vendor performance (e.g. active SRM, supplier segmentation).
Impact is not only about reducing costs but delivering value as a business partner to the organization. Indirect Procurement is imperative in driving the next phase of CIP’s growth, which needs to focus on operational efficiency and scaling the business cost-effectively.
As a new function entering the build phase, Indirect Procurement has a two-pronged approach which focuses on delivering value through execution and professionalizing for the future.
- Execution – Strategically control the major spend categories and provide operational support to the business by enabling supply agreements
- Professionalization – Implement the systems, processes and tools which enable cost transparency, compliance and supplier risk management
The Role

- Negotiation support/sparring with colleagues and providing contract reviews/feedback
- Supplier performance management
- Spend mapping, impact tracking and reporting, policy creation and rollout, project pipeline management
- Building of the Indirect Procurement Toolbox – sourcing and category management templates, Sharepoint support site; codifying internal processes.
